Have you seen our kiosk?

26 March, 2010 14:44 by Megan

We need your help! Museum Victoria has put out a media release this week seeking information from the community about the whereabouts of the German Kiosk from the 1880 German Garden.

On the last days of the archaeological dig, the team discovered a set of foundations which they believe once supported the structure, but the appearance – and fate – of the kiosk remains unknown.

It is possible that the kiosk may have been sold after the International Exhibition closed in 1881 and removed from the site intact. We want to know if it is at your local park, bowls club, in your backyard or even if you have a photograph of it!

Contact the Museum Victoria Discovery Centre on 03 8341 7111 if you think you can shed some light on this mystery.

3D visualisations

12 March, 2010 14:38 by Megan

Today we received 3D visualisations of the design of the new western forecourt garden! While some things may change over the coming months, the concept designs clearly show the circular garden with parterre garden beds and two urns that I described in the last post.
