3D visualisations

Today we received 3D visualisations of the design of the new western forecourt garden! While some things may change over the coming months, the concept designs clearly show the circular garden with parterre garden beds and two urns that I described in the last post.

Just found your blog via maNexus - a good example of how a blog can be used for those who want to watch a major heritage project as it moves from stage to stage.

Are they restoring the kiosk? I thought that was going to be reconstructed?...

Museum Victoria

Hi James, we do indeed plan on replacing the kiosk in the German garden, but at the moment the mystery of what it looked like, what materials it is was constructed from, and what it was used for remain. Footings for the kiosk were found during the archaeological excavation, but no other evidence.  So, we are on the hunt for images and information!
