This education kit is designed for students who have chosen the Astronomy and/or Astrophysics studies of the Year 11 VCE Physics course. The kit complements the VCE Astronomy and Astrophysics show at Melbourne Planetarium, but can also be used as a ‘stand alone’ resource for senior students.
The kit consists of teacher notes related to the planetarium show, a table of Solar System statistics, a list of Internet links, and 20 student activities to be done at school or at home. Many activities include worksheets to photocopy, although teachers are encouraged to adapt the activities to the needs of their students where necessary.
