Scienceworks education excursion packages have been designed to optimise student learning within a specific content area or theme. Each package provides a suggested program for a fun and interactive day at Scienceworks that also meets specific curriculum outcomes.
The Seasons and Eclipses package will give your students an opportunity to learn about day and night, the tilt of the Earth on its axis and how this causes seasons. The package also covers the phases of the Moon.
The conditions necessary for a total solar eclipse and total lunar eclipse are explained as well as why we don't have a total solar and a total lunar eclipse every month - for Years 7 and 8 only.
This package includes the Tilt planetarium show and the Earth Moon and Sun science show.
An example itinerary could be:
10.00am – Earth Moon and Sun science show
10.30am – General viewing of exhibitions
11:00am – Tilt planetarium show
12:00pm – Lunch
Available Terms 1 & 2, Tuesday to Friday.
Maximum of 60 students per session
Minimum of 15 students per session
Cost: $7.70 per student, plus education service fee.
