Your house is really a laboratory, a zoo and a museum! You’ll never look at your home the same way ever again. Explore, in Italian, the familiar objects in our homes - the food we eat, the appliances we use, and the living things that share our environment.
A CD Rom will be posted on booking. It contains excursion pathways that contain language activities to guide children through House Secrets, exploring the science of the home and everyday household objects as well as science activities for the classroom, supported by filmed kitchen chemistry experiments with written and listening tasks in Italian.
Schools booking in Term 4, in November on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will also be given the opportunity to book a short kitchen demonstration in Italian by the Co.As.It Education Officer.
Curriculum relevance: LOTE, physical sciences, chemical science.
Self guided program: available Terms 1 & 2, Monday-Friday.
Museum staff demonstration: available Term 1, Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
Session times: 11am & 1pm.
Session duration: 60 minutes.
Maximum 60 students per session.
