Discover the smelly side of Melbourne's history.

Located on the Yarra River at the back of Scienceworks, the Pumping Station is opened for guided and self-guided tours daily.

Hear some stinky stories from the straining well, explore the magnificent engine room and discover a wartime air-raid shelter as you marvel at the engineering feat that helped overcome the stench of 19th century Melbourne.

Guided tours run daily and feature an enormous steam engine in action.

Suitable for ages 5 and over.
