Celebrate the Mini Cooper’s 50th anniversary.
See Museum Victoria's own Mini on display – an Australian-built 1964 998cc Morris Mini Cooper.
This vehicle has had two owners, with the second owner having it from 1966 to 1984. Museum Victoria purchased it in 1984 with 40,000 miles on the odometer. It was resprayed shortly before the Museum acquired it in red and white which were the factory colours. The second owner also fitted new door trims and seat covers purchased during a trip to Britain in 1975.
The revolutionary design and sales success of the Mini provided the impetus for the development of the modern small car and became a design icon.
