Description:
H.V.McKay's original slab-hut smithy which was re-located from Drummartin to the grounds of the Sunshine factory, 1928. In the background is the Printing Department, H.V. McKay's original office. A poem by C.J. Dennis describes the smithy as 'a monument that this whole land reveres' (1928). It was acquired by Museum Victoria in 1960.
