Marilyn Gumurdul is known for her consistent craftsmanship and creates a variety of forms. Single coiled spliced handles that extend from lower coils in the basket are her signature work.

Patsy Kelly

Patsy is a young artist and often experiments with forms particularly handbags. She creates striking designs by interchanging techniques and colours within a single work. Patsy's mother is Shirley Kelly.

Shirley's specialty is flat pandanus handbags that are knotted. She is married to David Kelly and they have seven children. Shirley sometimes works with daughters Bronwyn, Doreen and Patsy.

Joscelyn Maralngurra 1975

Joscelyn Maralngurra is a young artist and experiments with classic conical basket forms. She applies techniques used in making string bags to these and handbags. Jocelyn's mother was fibre artist Dolly Maralangurra.

Dianne Mikginjmijginj was married to deceased artist Peter Nabarlambarl. She goes to Kakadu National Park with other women during the dry season to demonstrate pandanus collection and preparation and techniques of making fibre forms.

Antina Nabegeyo 1982

Antina Nabegeyo mainly produces pandanus handbags. Her parents are artists Robyn and Mukguddu Nabegeyo and she is married to painter Lawrence Nganjmirra. Antina is the youngest artist in this exhibition.

Eileen Nabegeyo

Eileen prefers to make pandanus handbags like many younger artists in Gunbalanya. She comes from a family of well-known painters. Her father is Billinjara Nabegeyo and her brothers are Mukguddu and Bruce Nabegeyo.

Garnbaladj is a proponent of classic styles and techniques and she experiments with open coiling techniques. She has participated in several String World Festivals and is a strong advocate of fibre arts.
