Esther Manakgu worked closely at Kudjekbinj outstation with her sister Miriam Nganjmirra who recently passed away. Their mother and her family came from Goulburn Island where Esther learned fibre techniques.

Louise Nganjmirra produces coiled baskets with strong geometric patterning including step and diamond designs. The influences of her sister-in-law Jill Nganjmirra are apparent in Louise's use of these geometric designs.

Miriam Nganjmirra 1930-2004

Miriam produced loosely coiled baskets sometimes with the addition of plaited pandanus. She made baskets up to her death. Miriam had worked alongside her sister Esther Manakgu and daughter Louise Nganjmirra.
