Marlene is the eldest of four daughters
of artist Spider Namirrki. Her sisters are
Jill Nganjmirra, Betty Namarnyilk and
Leanne Guymala. A feature on their fibre
work appeared in Object in 2004.
Doreen Nabulwad 1945

Doreen consistently produces closely
coiled large baskets in bowl and saucepan
shapes. She remembers the late Dorothy
Bennett coming to the outstations in the
eighties and buying her baskets.

Margaret Nabulwad and her sisters
Molly, Janice and Doreen watched
their mother make baskets. Margaret
lives and works at Mamadawerre
and her husband Wirdup sometimes
assists her in collecting materials.
Stephanie Nadjamerrek 1939

Stephanie Nadjamerrek consistently
produces small and tightly coiled baskets.
Her trademark style of work often
employs chopping colour with alternating
two stitches of different colours.
Stephanie is a senior fibre artist.
Janice Nalorlman 1957

Janice Nalorlman produces bucket forms
with movable handles. Her work has highly
patterned close coiling. Janice's mother
was fibre artist Alice Mamilaku Nalorlman
and her sisters are also fibre artists.
Patricia Narorrga 1972

Patricia has worked collaboratively with
her mother-in-law Molly Nayilibidj to
produce twined mats. She is a young
artist and works at Mamadawerre
outstation. Patricia mother is fibre artist
Lena Narorrga.
Molly Nayilibidj 1950

Molly produces both coiled and twined
work. Her mother is fibre artist Alice
Nalorlman. Molly's daughter Gwen
Gumurdul and her sisters Janice
Nalorlman, Doreen and Margaret
Nabulwad are all fibre artists.
Noeline Nayilibidj 1944

Yirridjdja, Mamadawerre, Mamadawerre
Noeline produces bold geometric designs
like pie wedges in her coiled baskets and
mats. Her mother is Caroline Nayilibidj who
is originally from Goulburn Island. Noeline's
uncle was painter England Bangala.
Jill Nganjmirra 1954

Yirridjdja, Kudjekninj/Yayminyi, Mamadawerre
Jill is originator of the floral pattern. Her work
featured in Object in 2004 and is in Object
Gallery's basket exhibition opening in 2005.
Jill is also a painter.
