Abstract: New records and a new species of Chirostylidae from north-western Australia are reported. Prior to the present study, two chirostylids were known from north-western Australia. The present collection comprises seven species arrayed in three genera: Chirostylus, Eumunida and Uroptychus. Five species are newly recorded from Australian waters: Eumunida ampliata, E. funambulus, E. pacifica, Uroptychus joloensis and U. nigricapillis. Chirostylus dolichopus is newly reported from the Northern Territory. One species from the North West Shelf, U. oxymerus is new to science. A total of 40 species of Chirostylidae are now known from Australian waters.
