Experience music, dance and more from across the Pacific.
This special event helped to celebrate the diverse cultures of the many Pacific Islander groups resident in Victoria, including Fiji, Samoa, Nauru, Kiribati, New Zealand Maori, Tonga, Niue, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and the Torres Strait, among others.
People enjoyed a concert showcasing music and dance from across the Pacific, with a traditional Kava ceremony as well.
Other activities included traditional pandanus weaving, old-style islander storytelling, a chance to see Pacific cultural objects from Museum Victoria’s collections, and craft and other displays.
