Join us at the Immigration Museum for a festival celebrating Victoria’s Sri Lankan community.
This festival featured classical, folk and contemporary dances from Tamil, Singhalese and Muslim traditions accompanied by the sounds of a traditional Sri Lankan trumpet player, drumming bands, string instrument performances, choirs and wonderful solo singers. Cooking demonstrations, a costume parade, arts, crafts and information about life in Sri Lanka were other highlights, alongside Sinhalese and Tamil writing demonstrations, lace making and activities for children.
