Bindi Cole is a Melbourne-based photographer of Wathaurong, Jewish and English descent. In her photographic series ‘Not really Aboriginal’, Bindi used ‘Minstrel Black’ and ‘Negro Brown’ make-up found in a Melbourne shop to challenge the connection between black skin and Aboriginal identity.
