Booking in your school or tertiary group guarantees your access to our education programs, exhibitions and other activities.
Semester 1 bookings open on 1 December each year. Semester 2 bookings open on 1 May. Some programs are booked through MV Teachers only
Teachers and supervisors are admitted free at recommended ratios of 1:3 for preschool groups, 1:5 for primary groups, 1:10 for secondary groups, and 1:20 for tertiary groups.
Pre-booked education groups and their supervisors don't need to pay admission to the Immigration Museum. We do charge an education service fee:
Shows and programs led by museum staff have an additional fee per student. You'll find this fee on the individual program listings.
If the total cost for your group is only the education service fee, please pay on your day of visit by cheque, cash or credit card. Where bookings include additional program fees, we'll issue a tax invoice to you for the total amount when you arrive.
If you have a large group (10+ people), please arrive 15 minutes prior to your booked time at the Schools Courtyard via Market Street. We'll have staff ready to help you organise your group and process payment. Coaches and mini-buses can offload students at the designated zone on Market Street, near the museum banners. There is no bus parking onsite.
Small groups (9 or fewer) can head straight to the main entrance on Flinders Street.
Please leave school bags at home. You can bring large tubs to store lunches and drinks until lunchtime. In fine weather, the courtyard is an excellent lunch spot. We have a shortage of covered areas, so in bad weather we recommend you have an alternative plan for your lunch venue.
