FameLab is one of the biggest science communication competitions in the world.
If you can explain a scientific concept to the general public in just three minutes, FameLab's the competition for you! You could become the new face of science, represent your country at the FameLab International final in the UK, and open doors to global opportunities in science communication!
Applications for FameLab 2017 open on 9 January. Submit a short video entry and you could be invited to perform live at one of the national semi-final events taking place in NSW, QLD, VIC and WA between March and May 2017. Find out more on the British Council Australia website.
Are you a spectator rather than a competitor? No worries! The Victoria semi-final is held at Melbourne Museum on Thursday 30 March.
Organised by the British Council and Cheltenham Festivals, FameLab aims to discover charismatic, up-and-coming scientists who inspire people to see the world from a new perspective.
Watch as twelve of the country’s best science communicators take to the stage to win your hearts and minds in their quest to be crowned winner of the FameLab Victoria semi-final 2017. Who will be able to handle the heat?
Presentations will be judged by a panel of media professionals and public figures according to FameLab’s 3Cs: Content, Clarity and Charisma. And, as an audience member you'll be given the power to vote for your favourite contestant in the Audience Choice Award.
Come and watch the FameLab Victoria semi-finalists use their charm, charisma and knowledge to deliver three minutes of science in style in a night that’s guaranteed to be full of FameLabulous fun!
