Scienceworks joins forces with experts, astronauts, artists and performers for a night starring astronomy and light. See the full program online, download the PDF version or find out more at the festival blog.
Meet former NASA astronaut, Marsha Ivins, and find out what it’s like to spend 5 missions and 55 days in space. Enjoy talks and shows for all ages illuminating the latest research on dark matter, circadian rhythms, fluorescence, lasers and light sabers, cosmology in Antarctica plus the astronomical knowledge systems of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Family-friendly fun with an array of hands-on optics activities, stargazing with experts on our field of telescopes, interactive art installations, and the crazy laser maze back to test your limbs and limits!
Then take a small step – or giant leap – into a workshop or show where you can discover the wonders of astronomy and light. Some shows and workshops incur additional costs and can only be purchased with a festival entry ticket. Book early to avoid disappointment (tickets will only be available on the night if not sold out prior).
Bar, café and food trucks including Senor BBQ, Taco Truck, Satay Truck and Crepes for Change serve up intergalactic treats all night. Free parking available.
