What's On

Launch yourself into a night of discovery with DJs, drinks and space explorers.

Each April the world stops to mark the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin who, in 1961, was the first human launched into space. This year Scienceworks and Melbourne Planetarium will host our second annual Yuri’s Night celebration.

Take your seat in our 16m-domed ceiling planetarium and our presenters will fly you off planet Earth and out beyond the stars.  This expansive planetarium show will take you on a journey to the far reaches of the universe.

Settle in to the amphitheatre for an engaging discussion on space exploration. Expert guest speaker to be announced.

Enjoy outdoor stargazing through telescopes (weather permitting).

Space cocktails and food for earthlings will be available for purchase on the night at this adults-only event. Prizes will be awarded for the best space themed costumes.

The planetarium show will screen at 7.15pm and 9.15pm. Choose a session time when booking your tickets.  Expert guest speaker presentation will start at 8pm.
